Charles H. "Charlie" Roberts, 64, passed away peacefully with family and friends surrounding him on Wednesday, November 11th, at Truman Care Center in Kansas City, Missouri, from pancreatic cancer. Charlie served in the United States Army, in Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star, which is presented to Army personnel who distinguished themselves by heroic or meritorious achievement or service. Other awards include, Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal, and the Vietnam Service medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars. He was a hard working man, he had a big heart and he never hesitated to tell you how things were going to be. He was preceeded in death by his wife, Frances "Pinky" Roberts, and his parents Charles and Gloria Roberts. He is survived by his daughter Britta "B.J." Kester and her husband, Keith and one grandson. He is also survived by a sister, Barbara Powell and her husband Larry and a brother, Walter Roberts, and several nieces, nephews, and a great niece and great nephew, his girlfriend, Linda Thomas and many wonderful friends. Cremation. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Unity Village Pool Clubhouse, Unity Village, Missouri on Saturday, November 21st from 2-5pm. His remarkable qualities made him an outstanding father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be sincerely missed by all who knew him. No flowers please.
