Donald Officer

Donald Officer, 87, of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 17, 2011. He was born the eldest of nine children to Nellie and Frank Officer in Marshall, Missouri, March 7, 1923.

Don was a WW II veteran in the Air Force. He spent most of his life working as a plumber and HVAC contractor in the region around Slater, MO. Late in life he moved to Kansas City to be closer to his sons and worked for Goodman Ace Hardware until he was 86, when he retired reluctantly due to failing health.

He loved golf, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Missouri Tigers. He prided himself on staying abreast of sporting news, and remembering scores and statistics.

Don had the heart of a saint and the voice of an angel. I never met a man with a kinder more gentle heart. My life has been better for having known him.
