Donald Portwood

Donald Simpson Portwood, 67, North Kansas City, MO passed away August 13, 2008.  Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, August 24, 2008 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO.  Friends may call 1-2 PM, Sunday at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bikers for Babies. 

Donald was born November 24, 1940 in Merced, CA.  He served his country in the US Marine Corps.  Donald loved riding his motorcycle, and was a person who cared about people.  His ever growing ’to-do’ list was mostly things to do for other people.  He had a strong sense of honor and personal integrity.

 

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; Ralph &  Mildred (Randolf) Portwood; sister, Retha Portwood.  He is survived by; daughter & son in law, Tiffany & Mark Armstrong; daughter, Tina Lyle; grandsons, Vaughn Portwood, Noland Armstrong, Collin Wayne Simpson VanBibber; sister & brother in law; Fran & Fred Hutchinson; nephew,  Frank Huchinson; neice, Christina Butcher; and his many life-long friends.     I will always love you. You were a wonderful for twenty years. Hopefully we will meet again. I was unable to attend your Memorial service do to major medical problem. I know you knew that I really wanted to attend. I believe you are still with me every day. I will always love you. RIP and hope to see you again sooner then later. Please take care of my family that had gone before me. I love you and miss you.

    I Can’t believe ten years have passed since you left us for a better place. You are missed by so many. After being together 20 years I have to say it was overall a good time. I wish we would have made it. I love you and I always will. Hope to see you again. Take care of our families and all of the pets that have crossed the rainbow bridge.
