HOLMAN, Dr. Carol Penny (ne. O’Lear) of Nevada, MO, died Monday, November 12. Born in Passaic, NJ, Penny lived in Mahwah, NJ before beginning graduate studies at Syracuse University where she met and married her husband Dr. Loyd Bruce Holman. She is survived by her husband, and their son Dr. Alexander Holman, his wife Emily, and their son Liam. Penny was sister to Linda and Bill Dator, and aunt of Lisa,
Rebecca and Will. A graduate of Ramsey High School and of Michigan State University, Penny received a Masters Degree and Certificate of Advanced studies in
School Administration from Syracuse, and a doctorate in Psychology from the Forrest Institute of Psychology. Penny served as the director of education for the New York Upstate Medical Center’s facility for emotionally disturbed blind children, as a teacher of children with special needs, as a writer of educational materials for the National
Crusade for Opportunity, and with her husband as a producer of documentary films for the New York State Department of Education in India. She maintained a practice as a clinical psychologist for more than ten years in Nevada, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite charity in Penny’s name
would be appreciated.

I was very sorry to hear about your mother. As your family grows,may you remember all the wonderful things she taught you. She was always so supportive of your endeavors. May she rest in peace and peace be with you and your family.

I was just doing some online research to locate Penny. I have been wanting to thank her for saving my life. I was in so much inner pain at a young age and I never thought that I would be able to find happiness. My interactions with Penny were pivotal in my life. I can trace the beginnings of my happiness and light to the first time we met. She has had more of a positive impact on me than anyone before or since. I am a successful business owner with a loving family and to come from poverty and torture to where I am today wouldn’t have ever been possible without her. I have long desired to thank Penny for everything positive in my life. My deepest condolences go out to the family. I can’t emagine my life today withou her help. I wish there were more people in the world like Penny.
