I first met Jerry Wright at the Waldo Avenue Baptist Church when he came as the Minister of Music. While there Jerry convinced me my voice was not as terrible as I thought and encouraged me to join the choir. Later I convinced Jerry to become a Police Chaplain in Independence. He joined the Chaplain Program and later he, Dennis Green, Larry Danks and I started the original Police Quartet at the Independence Police Department. We sang all over the State to include the U.S. Capital. We had a great time, entertained many and became great friends. We will all miss Jerry and Kathy. My love and prayers to their family. Gary D. George, Director of Public Safety, Alpharetta, Georgia.

Jerry was by far my favorite patient at the pharmacy. Even when he was so sick, he was the most positive person I knew. When he came through the drive-thru–I always took time to hold his hand. He was a VERY special person. I will miss him with my whole heart. To the family–I hurt with you for the loss of a great, great man.

I first met Jerry at the Kansas City Baptist Temple in 1971. We traveled extensively while he was singing. I worked closely with him at KCBT with sound and Television. Flew several miles with him. Had a near plane crash in mid 70’s on the way to Ft. Worth, had to make emergency landing at Butler Airport. He also married me and my present wife in 1994. I had contact with him all of those years. We wish the family well and are praying for them. God Bless Rich, (Dick) and Kay Childs

My husband and I met Jerry through his son Chad. Jerry was like family as his son lived with us for awhile in the late 90’s, we got to know Jerry quite well. He and his wife were very special to us and always a pleasure to visit with. We love you Chad and family, we are here for you, whatever you need.

I met Jerry and Kathy around 1998. I was the Real Estate agent who helped them purchase their home. They were among the most pleaseant people I’ve ever worked with. They were excited about this home and that is what made it so much fun! jerry and I had music in common and we sang a few Christian tunes together during our business relationship. Over the years, we stayed in touch via email and snail mail. He was always so gracious about recieving mail from me, whether he wanted it or not. I don’t run into very many people who can match his love for the Lord and for people in general. I will miss him but I know he is rejoicing in the Lord and has been reunited with the love of his life, Kathy. Praise God for Jesus Christ and the chance to live thru Eternity with Him!

We did not know Jerry personally only through his sister Jo. We know he is a believer and he is now with Jesus.

Chad your father always treated me good, and welcomed me into his home. I have nothing but great memories about him and him putting up with our antics. My heart broke for you and your sisters when I learned about his passing. Get in touch with me soon my friend.
