Harry Eugene Lowe, 61, of Columbia passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at University Hospital due to a head injury from a fall at his home. Private family services will be held. He was born August 12, 1945 to James H.E. and Mary Susan (McBaine) Lowe. Harry married Rita Orcutt on March 6, 1966 and she preceded him in death. Harry attended Columbia Public Schools and worked in construction work doing remodeling, roofing, and siding in Columbia and several Missouri towns. He loved to fish, play pool and compete in dart competitions. Harry is survived by his daughter Yessa Rene Lowe of Palm Bay, FL, two sisters, Dollie M. Gerken of Joplin and Mary L. Biddle of Columbia, two brothers, Joseph T. Lowe of Brea, CA and Richard G. Lowe of Columbia, two grandchildren, Taylor of Columbia and Daniel of Palm Bay, FL as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Harry is also preceded in death by his parents, one son Noak, two brothers Edmund and James and two sisters, Margaret Lowe and Mildred E. Miner.

    I don’t know if you remember me or not but I was very close with all of your family when I was much younger. I remember both of your parents and you as a young girl and have wondered many times over the years how you were.

    We had Harry re-roof two different houses that we own. Both times he not only did a great job but he was efficient and did a quick and neat job. Also when we had the opportunity to talk with him we learned that he had a great sense of humor. so sorry for you loss.

    wanted to say how very sorry we are about ur loss. harry used to work with my uncle rug his real name is wes if u knew him. harry was a very nice man and will be remembered. wish the funeral was public

    Yessa and family, I am so sorry to hear of the death of your father. I still fondly remember the hospitality that you and he showed me when you had me as a guest for dinner one night years ago in the home you and your dad shared. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
