Jack Kreeger

Jack Joseph Kreeger Sr.

Jack Kreeger, Sr., 65, died peacefully, surrounded by family, on October 5, 2008 at VAMC in Kansas City.

Jack was born in Lee’s Summit on February 9, 1943 to John and Loren Kreeger. He lived in Lee’s Summit most of his life, retiring to Warsaw in 2001.

On February 17, 1961 he married Ida Bennett. He is survived by Ida and by their children; Jack Kreeger, Jr.; Jorgi and husband Michael McNamara; Kenneth Kreeger; Jennifer and husband Matthew Dalzell; Michael Kreeger; and by the children of his heart, Phillip and Renée Hillyer. Jack is also survived by his sisters Judy Bennett and Joyce Allen, 12 grandchildren, one great grand child, and numerous nieces and nephews, including some who were with him at the end. He was preceded in death by both parents, his brother John Kreeger, and his beloved grandson Joseph Kreeger.

Jack attended Lee’s Summit High School and then joined the US Air Force. He later earned an electronics degree and owned an electronic communications business. He was known for his booming laugh, his generous spirit, and his mischievous sense of humor. He helped teach a generation of Lee’s Summit children to play football by coaching Pop Warner. He will also be missed by his friends at the Masonic Lodge and by his fellow HAM radio operators.

Jack was looking forward to the imminent birth of his second great grandchild and to his grandson’s wedding. He will be deeply missed during these and all future family events.

Arrangements are pending. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to West-Central IL Services (WILS), 710 North College, Suite D,  Warrensburg, MO 64093

My deepest sympathy goes out to the Kreeger family. I know Jorgi through work. It appears that her heart for helping others and lively spirit is inherited through her father. May God provide comfort and peace to all of you today and forever.

Jack was always known to me as Jorgi’s Dad. He was a man who adored his children and it was obvious to all who knew him what his children meant to him. I always enjoyed the laughter and the humor that could be seen in his deep blue eyes because they would twinkle. My Love and sympathy to Ida, Jorgi, Skip, Jenny, Kenny, and Michael and to all his other loved ones. I know Jack will be missed by all!

I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge-myth is more potent than history-dreams are more powerful than facts-hope always triumphs over experience-laughter is the cure for grief-love is stronger than death–Robert Fulgham.. May God give you and your family the gift of peace of mind, and lightness of your heart.
