Nancy M. Gustafson, 65 of Overland Park, KS passed away April 29, 2010 at her home in Overland Park from ovarian cancer. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 8, 2010 in the Heartland Chapel in Eudora, KS. Mrs. Gustafson was born on Dec. 7, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from Penn State in 1966, married Gilbert L. Gustafson on February 20, 1971, had 2 children; Scott in 1974 and Courtney in 1977. She was preceded in death by a son Todd Andrew at birth in 1977. Survivors include her husband, Gilbert; son, Scott of Augusta, GA, daughter, Courtney of Kansas City, MO and a brother Gerald Miller of Broomall, PA. In lieu of flowers, a tangible memorial contribution may be made to your local cancer care or hospice center.

Most certainly the strongest and positive person I have ever known. Nancy touched us all and leaves a wonderful memory of knowing her in our hearts and minds. Knowing Nancy and how she lived her life should remind us never to be unhappy or ungrateful…live a full life each day remembering to be happy for what you have.
Nancy will be missed so much. She is my inspiration to living life to the fullest as time is short.

These unique and precious aspects of Nancy and the life she lived on earth, continue to live on in the hearts, memories and lives of those who were lucky enough to know and appreciate her first hand. We will miss you and look forward to the day when you are there, smiling with open arms, to greet us on our arrival in that place where you are now. I will always have a special place in my heart for Nancy. She taught me and other Moms in our military support group to smile and laugh often and big regardless of what is going on. She was my rock for so many months during the Iraqi conflict. How she did it I will never know. And even though we didn’t much of each other I knew she was there – always smiling. I wish we had that lost opportunity to toast each with our favorite Scotch. Here’s to you, friend. I will feel your presence when I need to smile. Love you, Ruth
Nancy was a wonderful person to know. She was the most positive, optimistic person I have ever known. She will be greatly missed by many and I am glad to have known her.
Nancy was a dear friend from my school days in Feasterville, Pa. We were scouts together and teenage confidants. Though we lost track of each other, my memories of her are sweet. May she rest in peace.
