Richard Courtney

Richard L. Courtney went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on April 21, 2011. He was born Sept. 20, 1935 in Independence, MO, to Walter Sr. and Ina (Zion) Courtney (Both Deceased). He married Wanda (Bridgforth) Courtney in 1954. He is survived by 4 children, Steven (Diana) of Independence, MO., Kevin (Yvonne) of Walkerton, IN., Darien (Faith) of St Joseph, MO. and Melissa of Belton, MO.; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Walter Jr. (Marilyn) Courtney of Mt. Carmel, IL; sister Margaret Watkins of Independence, MO.; plus other friends and family. Richard was a member of Park Grove Christian Church in Lowry City, MO. Richard’s last job was at Ray Country Memorial Hospital in Richmond, MO. as Assistant Administrator. A graveside service will be held 10:30 AM on Friday, April 29th at Woodlawn Cemetery in Independence, MO (just North of 23rd Street on Noland Road.
