Edward A. Owens

Edward Owens, 83, Pleasant Hill, MO, passed away Dec. 13, 2007, at John Knox Care Center. Edward is survived by his wife Carolyn, five children; Carmen Rollins, Scott Owens, Carol Lynn Andrews, James Owens, Mary Desmond, and three grandchildren; Amy Hewitt, and, Lily, and Savannah Andrews. Edward worked as a Kansas City police officer for 26 years, and was instrumental in developing the K-9 unit in Kansas City. Ed left the world a better place, and all that knew him would agree. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to The KCPD C.A.R.E. Team, 1125 Locust, Kansas City, MO 64106, c/o Rachel Whipple.
