With four generations of experience in the funeral industry, Andrew and Elizabeth Loos recognized the critical need for affordable, yet respectful, alternatives to traditional funeral services offered by local funeral homes. That’s why in 2001, they founded Heartland Cremation & Burial Society with cremation and funeral services home office in Raytown, Missouri. The Raytown location offers a chapel space for visitations, funerals, and memorials, as well as an onsite crematory.

When our neighboring communities in Johnson and Wyandotte Counties in Kansas realized the value and quality of Heartland’s services, the Looses were inundated with requests from across the state line. To meet the needs of these families, they expanded to a convenient Cremation and Funeral Arrangement Center in Overland Park, Kansas. Heartland became the first Cremation Society licensed to offer services in both Missouri and Kansas. Families from the surrounding eastern Kansas communities have all welcomed the addition of the arrangement center. They can choose to use the space at the Raytown chapel, or select their own event location in Kansas from among their local community centers and houses of worship.

The proprietors and staff at Heartland proudly provide special services for our country’s veterans as a thank you from a grateful nation. Heartland is actively involved with Veterans Funeral Care and its programs, and as a trusted VFC provider, the staff is expertly trained in the nationally recognized special care training. This means that they will coordinate with the department of Veterans Affairs to ensure that veterans and their families received all the benefits they deserve, including VA cash benefits, military honors, burial or inurnment in a National or State Veterans Cemetery, burial flag, and more.
