Nicole Lyn Appleberry, 27, of Kansas City, MO., was born September 27, 1987 and passed away May 25, 2015. Visitation is at 1:00 pm followed by a Memorial services at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 6th at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society.
Nicole was such a beautiful and vibrant women and that showed at a young age as she was in many beauty pageants and was named Sunburst Queen and many more. Her passion was to become an attorney as she was a great debater and she excelled in school but later enrolled into college for accounting. She had such a bright future as she was very passionate, outgoing, ambitious and even more than all that she was caring. But that life was cut short as she fell victim to domestic violence. Please keep in mind most incidents are not reported, 1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. It occurs most often in women aged 15-34 and and sadly 1 in 3 of those women will result in a homicide. Reach out and call 1-800-621-HOPE, it could save a life.
She was preceded in death by many grandparents and brother Shawn Rodkey.
She is survived by her Mother Lori Schubach, and Father Jerry Appleberry; Half brothers and sisters, Samantha, Tanya and Jacob; Step brothers, Chris, Brad and Josh; Aunts and Uncles, Brenda and Bill Glendening, Mark, Clint, Derrick and Katrina Burke, Kathy, Donna and Chucky; Grandparent, Charles, Sue and Gary Rich; Cousins; Brandy, Cory, Aubrey and Kaison Harper, Dalton, Trina, Sabrina, Billy, Justin, Dakota and Cheyanne, her godmother Christi Huffmann-Edmanson As well as many more family and close friends.
Love you baby girl. I miss you so very much. My heart hurts for you.

Lori, I have no words that properly express how sad I feel for you. Only God can give you the peace and solace that you so desperately need during this time of unimaginable sorrow. You are always in my prayers and thoughts and will always continue to be. Your two babies are always with you and watching over you. I truly believe that. You do not need to be strong now. Lean on God, your family and friends. We are all here for you for whatever you need. Nikki, I know you are safe and at peace with God and your brother. You deserve that. Rest easy, sweet soul.

My baby nikki, u were for sure a one of a kind friend, u were the kind of friend that u one day hope becomes ur family. Sis we had some really good times at the apartment together doing out nails different every day if not twice. Our apartment always smelled like nail polish remover. U r my one and only “BITCH ON THE COUCH” and always will b. Sis I promise I will look after ur ma for u. Do me a favor while u r up there baby girl, PLEASE FIND U SOME PEACE AND SERENITY. I remember Nikki as a very young girl. Only about 4 years old when she lived with us (my mom, Delores Bloodsworth) for a while here in Georgia. She was so sweet and precious. I’m so sorry this tragedy has happened! May you rest in peace and may all your family find solace at this time.
