Mark Daniel McCarty

Mark Daniel McCarty (Danny) was born October 9, 1959 to Earl and Louise McCarty and passed away in his sleep on March 6, 2025. His mom nicknamed him Danny and to people outside the immediate family he was Mark. He was living in Little Blue less than one fourth a mile from where his mother was born. His roots were buried deep in the surrounding area. In fact his grandfather and great-grandfather helped build the old Little Blue church.

He graduated from Raytown South High School in 1978 and worked as a hot tar roofer as well as other various jobs. Mark had a love for the outdoors. He really enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, raising his chickens, turkeys and peacocks and any other animal he could catch. Mark took pride in growing his tomatoes and vegetables, his passion for farming was ingrained in his being. He loved to ride around on any John Deere tractor he could find. Mark’s life was a journey filled with adventure but he lived a simple life.

Survivors include: daughter, Kelsey (Josh), who he thought the world of; two grandchildren, Kylie and Jayce Coomarasingham; two sisters, Janet Moree and Jackie Hicks; brother, Randy McCarty; sister-in-law, Candy McCarty; and a host of nieces and nephews. Jeffrey Hicks had a strong bond with his uncle, helped him immensely, always ready to help with any task.

Mark was preceded in death by his brother, Lester McCarty who passed away in 2023. They were close neighbors and he is missed by all.

Mark Daniel McCarty left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.

Memorial services will be held at Little Blue Baptist Church Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 10:30am.
