LAWRENCE ?LARRY? RANDOLPH WITHROW, SR.
Larry Withrow, Sr., 66, long time resident of Overland Park, KS died Saturday, August 20, 2005 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center from a long illness and complications of diabetes, surrounded by his family. A celebration of Larry?s life will be 6:30 pm, Thursday, September 1 at Valley View United Methodist Church?s fellowship hall, 8412 W. 95th St., Overland Park. Larry was born September 3, 1938 in Atlanta, GA. He was active in the Civil Rights Movement and organized a preschool education program for under-privileged children. Larry graduated from University of North Carolina and was a Sigma Phi Epsilon and a long distance runner for the track team. He traveled the U.S. in his career in sales, marketing and advertising. His recent energy and time was devoted to his grandchildren and preparing for their early education. He was an avid sports fan; nothing compared to his National Champion basketball team for University of North Carolina. Larry was preceded in death by his son, Charles Scott Withrow in 1964. He is survived his wife, the love of his life, of 45 years, Kitty (who unselfishly cared for him throughout his long illness); sons, Randy Withrow and wife, Tracy and Chris Withrow; daughter, Tobey Rohlfing and husband, Tom; grandchildren, Jackson, Griffin and Holden Rohlfing and Eddie Werbe. Larry was a gracious hot and knew no strangers. He will be greatly missed.
