Sally Acay, 66, of Columbia, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at her home. Per her wishes cremation has taken place and private family services will be held. Sally had great compassion for those less fortunate than herself, a quality displayed during her tenure as a Project Manager for the Kingston Housing Authority in Ontario, Canada, and especially with the disadvantaged families she encountered while employed as a Head Start teacher here in Columbia. A devoted animal lover with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, Sally was also gifted with a unique sense of style that endeared her to many. She is survived by her husband Gerry, her sons Serge and Nick, daughter-in-law Lori and grandson Jared, brother Gary Askerooth and his wife Mui, and her parents, Don and Gem Askerooth. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her well.
