I served with John with the 7544 Air Police Squadron in France. I was his K9 flight commander and we were in the same barracks. I am in the center top of our flight photo. He is standing next to Greater. John was a good K9 handler and we stood many cold and raining nights on guard duty together. If I remember right his dog name was Bodo. I still have my duty log book showing our guard stations in 1963 and 1964. We all went by our last names and Urton, as we called him, was will liked. He always joined us and drank a few beers with the flight on our days off. We were a close group and got along together well. Sorry to see he passed, but I will always have him in my old memory when we were in the K 9 .
