John Barry Scanlon

J. Barry Scanlon, 81, was born to John J. and Eleanor Liston Scanlon. He was the oldest of 4 children born to this union.
His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his siblings, Sylvia (Frank), Stephen (Rita), and Kevin (Judy).

He married Janette Kanning Sept 14, 1968. She survives of the home. He was proud of his children Kelley (Steve), Brannon, and Meghan (Jason). Their gift to him was 6 beautiful grandchildren Molly, Christian, Joe, Nick, Olivia, and Dean.

He graduated from Bishop Hogan High School in 1956. After attending Rockhurst College for a while, he decided to grace the world with his sales ability. Most of his career was spent in the screen printing industry. Besides making many friends, he won numerous awards, including vacations to St Thomas, and Acapulco.

Barry was born-again March 7, 1977 (John 3:3). He became a new creation and spent the rest of his life seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness. (Matthew 6:33)

A Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 4th, 2021, at Hope Point Church (formerly Lifepoint Church, 2080 E 151st St, Olathe, KS 66062). The Memorial Service will be held the same day following the visitation, at 3:00 PM at Hope Point Church

If you would like to send flowers to the service, please have them sent to the church around Noon the day of the service. Sept. 4th at Hope Point Church (formerly Lifepoint Church, 2080 E 151st St, Olathe, KS 66062)
