Rachel Ann Bischoff

Rachel Ann Bischoff, 74, of Mary’s Home passed away September 6, 2021, at her home.

Rachel was born on January 14, 1947, in Columbia, Mo to David and Myrtle (Hathman) Morris, who preceded her in death. She was raised in Columbia, Mo and attended Hickman High school.

Rachel was joined in marriage to William (Bill) Bischoff on May 12, 1995. She was employed at Cowley Distributing and Scholastic. She worked for Maytag Corporation until their closing. She worked at Redfield golf course until her retirement.

She truly enjoyed the outdoors and time spent with family. She enjoyed camping, fishing, listening to classic country music, playing cards, and in more recent years she could be found outside tending to her plants and flowers if not making her specialty food recipes, especially nobake cookies, for her family.

You did not have to be related for her to love you like family. She was a mom and grandma to many, and nothing brought her greater joy than doing a kind deed for another. Rachel  was very  forth coming and did not hesitate to speak her mind. This was another reason to love her she had a feisty no-nonsense personality . She was animal lover and was a proud dog mom.

She is survived by her husband Bill of the home, three sons (from her first marriage to the late Edward Vaughan), David (Edie) Vaughan Sr., of Hallsville, Robbie (Mary) Vaughan, of Jefferson City, Danny (Allison) of Jefferson City, and stepdaughter Shelly (Darin) Bax of Mary’s Home, stepson Mike (Tina) Bischoff of Lohman, and stepson Matt Bischoff of St. Thomas.

Six grandchildren Mindie (Jason) Roush, Derrick (Jenna) Vaughan, Danielle (Dustin) Layton, Erica (Seth) Forck, David (Miranda) Vaughan, Jr. Madison Vaughan. Nine step grandchildren Brittany Bischoff, Cheyenne Herford, Jared Bischoff, Mykala Bischoff, Caleb (Sara) Bischoff, Dylan Bischoff, Josh Bischoff, John Bischoff, and Grace Bischoff. She is also survived by many great grandchildren and extended families who brought her great joy.

We would like to add a special thank you for the care and time that Shelly has spent throughout the years of helping Rachel and Bill when needed.

In honor of Rachel’s loving nature, we ask that you pay tribute to her by doing a random act of kindness. A celebration of her life will be held at a future date.

Rachel has always been my most FAVORITE cousin. She was always so much fun to be around. She had a way of keeping you in tears (of laughter) nonstop.
She definitely had that only Morris blood running thru her veins. Now she can keep our family members who have gone before us laughing until their sides and faces hurt.
Love ya and will miss ya, Rachel.
