Michael “Mike” Pluta, Sr.

Michael “Mike” James Pluta, Sr., 56, was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, Dzia- Dzia, and friend. He passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 5, 2021 in Kansas City, Missouri.

In his youth Mike enjoyed science fiction, Dr Demento and Weird Al, cycling, and skydiving (logging 72 jumps!). However, his passion from a young age has consistently been in the technology of computing. Described as having a rare intellect and intuitive sense of all things hi-tech, “guru” Mike was highly regarded in his field and worked in several distinct roles during his career, mostly recently as an Enterprise Big Data Architect. He was always the early adopter and stayed on top of tech trends, tools and gadgets. Mike continually tinkered with ongoing projects throughout his life.

Later in his life Mike enjoyed being out on the water, whether lake or ocean, on pontoon or cruise ship (he loved the turquoise Caribbean), he found peace onboard. As a fun pastime he enjoyed iPhone photography and liked playing with the special effects.

During his recent recuperation he kept busy with reading and studying. He practically consumed books daily. His current obsession was smart house technology as he believed we should literally be able to communicate and interact with our homes. He remained on top of current events until the end.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Susan; four beloved children, Mickey James Pluta in Kansas, Reanne (Kris) Trujillo in Colorado, Shay (Adrianna) Aweida in Thailand and Neveen (Pete) Hurd in Oregon. Dzia-Dzia Mike adored his four grandchildren, Kyelin Trujillo, Kaden Trujillo, Ochi Aweida and Lennox Hurd. Although he had traveled extensively, Mike maintained a soft spot for his Milwaukee roots with his surviving siblings Patti (Dan) Blaszczyk, Chris (Hannah) Pluta and sister-in-law Mary (late Rob) Pluta. He was inspired by the successes of his nieces Sammi (Justin) Effinger and Kate Pluta. Mike was preceded in death by his brothers, the late Rob Pluta and the late Nick Pluta, and parents the late Bob (Margie) Pluta and the late Susan (late Jim) McCord.

We love him and miss him very much. Rest in peace and power Michael James Pluta, Senior.

A Celebration of Life service for Mike will be held on December 4, 2021 at 11 AM at Polonez Restaurant, 4016 S Packard Ave, St Francis, WI 53235, followed by a private reception at 12 PM.

In lieu of flowers please consider contributing to the family’s GoFundMe project for  Mike Pluta Memorial  to create a memorial tree and bench site at a Broomfield city park in Broomfield, Colorado. There friends and loved ones can come to visit, remember and honor the life of the Mike Pluta.
