Emil Leon James, 79, of Independence, MO passed away October 3, 2022 quietly in his sleep after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease at The Groves Nursing Home in Independence, Missouri. A graveside service was held on Friday, October 21, 2022 in the Deerfield Cemetery, in Deerfield, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association (www.apdaparkinson.org).
Leon passed quietly in his sleep after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease at The Groves Nursing Home in Independence, Missouri. His caretakers described him as a kind and gentle man. The nurses and other caregivers at The Groves appreciated his humor and good nature. Leon was committed to his children and always supported them as they grew and matured into adulthood.
Leon is preceded in death by his parents Emil and Eunice James. Survivors include his brother Jarrel (MaryAnn), their daughter Keri Carroll; his son, David James, grandson Guthrie Jones; his son Wesley (Megan) James, and grandchildren Arlene James, Paige James and Clayton James; daughter Emily Corbett and her children Eric Predmore, Jr., James Predmore, Zury Rollison, Skylar Shamow, and Skylar’s daughter, Riley Gauges.
