Rev. Robert L. Browning Jr.

Life’s Reflection

Reverend Robert Browning Jr. was born on April 9, 1951, in Kansas City, Mo. to the union of Robert Browning Sr. and Marian Manson Browning. Both parents proceed him in death, along with his two uncles Chester Browning and Gabe Brown.

He grew up in Kansas City, Mo. as an only child, where he attended Graceland Elementary School and Paseo High School. Robert met Donna Melson in 1969, whom he later married on December 4th, 1971. To this union a daughter was born. Years later, he was reunited with Donna, whom he affectionately called his “Sweetcakes”, and they remarried on June 26th, 1999.

Robert was baptized at an early age. Although, he was employed as a truck driver, and worked at Lafarge, he found the time to assist at the family-owned savage yard, where he was a mechanic. Robert was a member of a motorcycle club and a saddle club in Kansas City. He completed several certifications throughout his life, but the one he was most proud of was being an ordained minister on October 16th, 1999. Robert spent his life serving our Lord and Savior.

Rev. Robert Browning loved being outdoors whether riding horses, fishing, bowling, or cooking…especially grilling. He enjoyed watching and supporting his grandkids in recreational sporting events including football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, track, and soccer.

In his past time, he enjoyed watching the Kansas Chiefs play, playing dominos with friends, and traveling. He adored all his grandkids and was extremely proud of them.

He was an associate minister and member of Southside First Missionary Baptist Church until his death. Rev. Robert Browning Jr. was called home to be with the Lord on July 7th (his dad’s birthday) at home with his devoted and caring wife by his side.

Rev. Robert Browning leaves his lovely wife Donna, three children, Shonda Browning (Aaron), Fonda Jackson, Brad Browning (Diana), 9 grandchildren, Erin, Lauren, Jazzmyne, Taylor, Wiliyah, Brad Jr, Branden, Bayleigh, Brielle, 1 great-grandson, Jayce, and special brothers Wesley K. Smith, Kenneth Lacy, Kenneth Cunningham, Joe Lee, Raymond Thomas, Dennis Washington, and host of nieces, nephews, Christian brothers, and friends.
