Cory Haze Peterson

It is with shattered hearts that we announce that Cory Haze Peterson, age 48, passed on Saturday, July 8th, 2023, after a fatal motorcycle accident in Columbia, Missouri. Those who knew Cory know how much love was taken from us that day.

Cory was born to his parents Stan and Sonja on April 17th, 1975, in Minot, North Dakota. Cory was an avid consumer of science fiction, world history, and classical poetry. Cory was a music lover, and his siblings genuinely enjoyed getting him riled up over conflicting views of what “good music” was. Cory had many theories about life, love, and the universe. While they were all probably wrong, we will enjoy recounting them as we adjust to life without him.

Cory will be missed every day by his daughter, Zoey, and her mother, Ann, of Elsberry, MO, his mother, Sonja, and stepdad, Jody, of Paris, MO, siblings Deci (Tom) of Waverly, IL, Stacey of Godfrey, IL, Amber of Sturgeon, MO, Dustyn (Lindsie) of Grimes, IA, Reiny (Sarah) of Grand Island, NE, Mike (Melissa) of Des Moines, IA, and Eric of Sturgeon, MO, as well as his many nephews and nieces, and all those who were fortunate enough to know him, if even for a little while.

We find comfort in knowing that Cory is resting now with his father, Stan Peterson.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Waverly, IL.
