Arthur Nelson

Arthur M. Nelson, 68, died Wednesday June 27th, 2007. Mr. Nelson was born March 22, 1939. A lifelong resident of the Kansas City area, he worked at TWA as an airline mechanic for 29 years until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the South-Side Amateur Radio Club (call letters K2C00). He was a weather spotter for the National Weather Service and a member of the ARES group, which assists with emergency communications. He was an officer for the Greenwood, MO Auxiliary police department. He married Diane Lauhon in 1960. In 1978, he married Francine J. Nelson. Survivors include his wife, Frankie of Overland Park; his son Arthur J. Nelson III and daughter Katina M. Mallon; a brother David R. Nelson and sister-inlaw Joan B. Nelson; three nieces and one nephew and many great nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday at 2pm at the All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church led by Mitra Rahnema, with buffet immediately following. Burial will be in the Forest Hill & Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City.
