Casandra Elaine Rugg, 56, Olathe, Kan., passed to life in the spirit on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Kansas City Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer. Casandra was born in Oklahoma City, Okla., in 1954. After living several years in Arkansas, she moved to Olathe, where she worked at Olathe Medical Center for more than 30 years. Known as “Cassie” by co-workers, she made many life-long friends there.
Casandra is survived by her brother, William, sister, Cindy, a daughter, Cindy, and nieces, Sara and Amee.
Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m., Saturday, June 26, 2010, at First Christian Church of Olathe at the corner of Chestnut and Loula streets. A celebration of her life and service will be directly after visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Kansas City Hospice House.
