Curtis Lee Hodge, 92, of Moberly passed away Saturday February 7, 2009 at Moberly Regional Medical Center. Graveside memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday February 12, 2009 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Moberly. Curtis was born April 25, 1916 in Milan to the late William and Effie (Childers) Hodge. He married Virginia Lee Russell on July 17, 1957 and she preceded him in death in 1994. Curtis was a former commander of the American Legion Bazan/Bailey Post #6, a member of VFW Post 2654, Moberly Optimist Club, Moose Lodge, served on the Board of Directors for the Senior Multipurpose Center and was a Volunteer Aide at the Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital. Curtis is survived by three children: Alice Hickman and her husband J. Stanley of Grain Valley, MO, Alma Riffel of Moberly and Greg Hodge and his wife Sandy also of Moberly, two sisters: Betty Glydewell of Moberly and Doris Martin of Gautier, MS. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Molly DiCostanzo of Deltona, FL, Susan Mathis of Fayetteville, AR, Amanda Dawson of Belton, MO, John Victor Riffell of Moberly and Kimberly Hodge of Bellingham, WA as well as special friends Judy Kirchhoff and Bernabe & Rose Valdez and family. He has also been preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Smothers and siblings Mary Kraft, Ken Hodge and Robert Hodge.
