Donaciano “Don” Pecina

 
Donaciano (Don) Pecina, 69 of Overland Park, KS, went home to be with the Lord on April 6, 2010. He was born on April 15, 1940 in Kansas City, MO to Tillie and Maximilliano Pecina.
 
Don served in the U.S. Marine Corps, worked for Santa Fe Railroad in KC, and retired from Sysco Food Service in Miami, FL. He loved and served his Savior, Jesus Christ, and enthusiastically encouraged others to do the same.
 
He is survived by his wife Estelle, and their children Mario, Max (Jessica), and Marissa (Brent) Nicoliasen. He is also survived by his son Don L. Pecina, Jr. of Chicago, and Cynthia (Terry) Prusik of Olathe. Don loved his grandsons Luke and Matthew Nicoliasen, McKinnon and Michael Prusik; his siblings Marshall (Lorraine), Nacho (Sara), Fran (Roy) Daniels, Amy Simental, and Sarah Castillo, Mexico. Don leaves numerous nephews, nieces, and family members.
 
Memorial service will be at Westbrooke Church, 9777 Antioch Rd., Shawnee Mission, KS 66212 (913) 888-4750, on Thursday, April 8 at 7 p.m. Funeral service and burial will be Leavenworth National Cemetary on Friday, April 9 at 10 a.m.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Heartland Community Church, 12175 S. Strangline Rd., Olathe, KS 66061 with "Benevolence Fund" as memo on the check.
