Donald F. Hafner, 68, Independence, MO, passed away June 29, 2005, at home. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice. Donald was born August 20, 1936, to David and Dorothy Hafner, who preceded him in death. Donald retired from Santa Fe Railroad in 1996, after 40 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Louise of 35 years; two children, Donald F. Hafner, Jr. and wife, Shelly, Glenpool, OK, and Vickey Crouch and husband, Mark, Shawnee KS; sister, Dorothy Akers and husband, Larry, Saddie, TX; and four grandchildren, Andrew and Matthew Hafner, Glenpool, OK, and Alexandra and Adrianna Crouch, Shawnee, KS. Donald leaves behind a great number of family members and friends who will greatly miss him.

I am very sorry to hear of Don’s passing. I’ll always remember our good times at Harvey’s and the warmth and friendship he always extended to me. He was a good man, indeed.
