Eric William Hansen, 51, Raytown, MO passed away September 4, 2010 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, September 11, 2010 at The Raytown Christian Church, 6108 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO 64133. Eric was born September 14, 1958 in St. Joseph, Missouri to M. Gregory and Dorothy (Diestelkamp) Hansen. Eric graduated from Smithville High School, in Smithville, Missouri in 1976. He enlisted in the U.S. Coast Gaurd in 1976 and served until 1984. He graduated from Divers Institute of Technology in Seattle, Washington in December of 1984, and began a career as an underwater welder that spanned more than 20 years. He was preceded in death by his father M. Gregory Hansen. Eric is survived by his mother Dorothy Hansen, daughter Samantha Hansen Weber, sister Jeanine Hansen, brothers Christian (Linda) and Michael, (Susan) Hansen, Samantha’s mother Lori Grunwald Hansen, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
