Graydon Goldsberry

Graydon B. Goldsberry, 87, died April 17, 2007, surrounded by family. Graydon passed at Season’s Care Center, Lee’s Summit, Missouri at the end of a long and joyous life. Graydon was born in Arkansas, October 13th, 1919 to A.A. and Dica Bell Lynch Whorton. She had been a resident of Garden City, KS since 1962, moving there from Larned, KS. In Garden City, she served the Lord at Word of Life Church for many years. Graydon went to meet her Savior leaving three sisters, Reva Brittain of Ogden, Utah, Joyce Berry, San Benito, TX, and Donita Taylor of Larned, KS. Five daughters survive, Sarah Peat, Garden City, KS, Mary Bryant, Lee’s Summit, MO, Louise Unruh, Lee’s Summit, MO, Janet Muldrew, Overland Park, KS, and Margaret Batchelder, Garden City, KS. Graydon left treasure on earth in the form of 22 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren as well as much-loved nieces, nephews and extended family. With her passing, Graydon joined her son Jim Carpenter, and her daughter Jenny Gray who preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 21st, at 11:00a.m. at Word Of Life Church, Garden City, KS. Pastor Lenore Newman will lead family and friends in a celebration of Graydon’s life.
