Dear Uncle Dan and family, Marly, Mitchell and Madison join me in extending our sincerest condolences. I will fondly remember Aunt Gudrun for her dry humour and uncommonly sharp wit. I will remember her for teaching me the fundamentals of how to comport myself on a date and I wll remember the Christmas’s we spent together in Montreal and Ottaws. Please take comfort in your memories and the many warm recollections of your wife, mother and grandmother.

Please accept my heart-felt sympathy. Memories of your dear Gudrun have occupied my thoughts.
I remember when she was born May 1 at the same time as the Dionne quintuplets. And then all those summers I spent at Gimli. I remember the times we spent on the beach when everyone was learning to swim and we would come home to a freshly baked Boiled Raisin Cake kept above the bread box in the pantry.
Christmases at Gimli with the fireplace aglow and uncle Norman carving the turkey.
Gudrun was a teenage beauty and photographed with Prime Minister Louis St. Laurent for a press release when he visited Gimli.
On the day Armistice was declared in 1945 I remember Peggy, Gudrun and I walked all the way down Portage Ave to mingle with the crowds in celebration.
A special memory is Gudrun and Dan’s wedding in Gimli. We shared the house next door with Dan’s dear mother. She must have been overwhelmed by all of us.
Over the years we were in contact by letters faithfully written each week to her mother and at Christmas to me.
Gudrun and Dan made so many interesting trips. Their children Ian and Kristin brought them great joy. A family reunion in Gimli gave us an opportunity to see them all. How wonderful it was for them to be together. We were so happy to included in their Golden wedding celebration in Gimli. Next summer when we are together in Gimli, I will perhaps have even more memories to share.
    Bless, bless
    Jo
