Janet Seeman

Janet was born into this world to her loving parents Norman and Norma Huston on July 28, 1957. She grew up in Kansas City, Kansas along with her brothers and sisters, Gary, Mark, Christine and Pamela (now departed). She married her loving husband Benjamin on June 26, 1977 and had a little girl, Jamie, on August 6, 1979. She was a good mother and wife, as well as a loving aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Janet loved to keep busy. She was happiest when visiting her friends and relatives. She was a good artist, and could draw and paint almost anything with ease. She was an amateur geologist and spent lots of time digging up and collecting rocks and fossils with her husband. She also loved animals and being outside with nature. In the better years, she spent many weekends hiking or walking in the park with her family and her dogs. In her later years, she developed an interest in playing the piano and figuring out how to fix computer problems. She had also taken up gardening and was so proud of the tomatoes and peppers that she was able to grow this year. Late in life she was also devoted to reading and understanding the lessons in the Bible.

Janet spent most of her life taking care of other people. She was often more concerned with making sure that everyone else was happy than with herself, and would have given almost anything to anyone selflessly, whether that was her time, her care or even her possessions if she felt that it would help them.

Although she did not get to spend as many years here with us as we had all expected, her impact on our lives was no less than if she had lived to be 100. She taught us all to be more compassionate and caring people. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her and we will think of her with love in our hearts each and every day.

To Ben and Jamie~ Although its been years, it seems like just yesterday when we spent time together after school with her. It’s funny the things you remember in life. I remember when she helped Jamie and I prepare for a spelling bee, and she would patiently sit through what must have seemed like hours listening to us try to spell words. Whether we spelled them right or not, she always was patient with us and encouraged us. There are many other wonderful memories that I have of her and of you guys together, but even that one shows her love and care for others. She will certainly be missed, and always loved. I’m sure my mom will show her the ropes in Heaven…I know they’re smiling down at you. I love you guys!

    Hi Mom,
Getting married in October and wishing I had done it sooner so that you would have been there. I will be thinking of you on my wedding day. He’s a good guy and I think you would have liked him. He would have gotten a real big kick out of you for sure. I know you are ok and I am doing better too. Love you.
