Janice Rose, age 72, died October 14th, 2007, (Ironically her husband?s birthday) at 5:45a.m.
She was born August 19th, 1935 in Kansas City, MO the daughter of Leslie Ray and Rosa Digleman Dellinger Kurtz. On March 10th 1956 she was married to William G. Rose, who died February 22nd, 1992. Mrs. Rose received her Bachelor?s Degree in teaching, and her Masters Degree in Instruction and Curriculum from Central Missouri State University. She taught two years in Kansas City, Missouri, two years in Oak Grove, and 26 years in Sedalia, Missouri, four of those years at Hubbard and 22 years at Washington Elementary. She retired in 1995. She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. Survivors include two daughters; Dana Lynn Rose of Wray, Colorado and Kelly Anne Rose of 109 N. Keene St. Apt 220, Columbia, MO 65201 a son William Scott Rose his wife Stacie and her two grandsons Alex and Chris of Weston, MO. She is also survived by two sisters; Annette Upp and her husband Richard of Downingtown, PA and Mary Lou Nolte of Kansas City, Missouri. The body will be cremated and there will be no services. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Boys and Girls Club of Sedalia, MO or the charity of the donor?s choice.

    I taught third grade with Janice for many years at Washington. I always enjoyed her sense of humor. We shared many laughs and yes, a few tears together. You have my sincere sympathy.

    I am a classmate of Mrs. Rose’s son Scott. Mrs. Rose was a great lady and a wonderrful mother and teacher. I appreciate all that she and Mr. Rose brought to my life. Words fall short of how much Mrs. Janice Rose meant to all who were blessed to have been touched by her.

    I was a student of Mrs. Rose (5th grade) at Washington School. On special days she would let us bring our records from home and would play them during class. That was a good year! I am sorry for your loss! My condolences!

    I’ve often thought of Janice in recent years and intended to send her a note. I can’t tell you how many times she made me laugh when we worked together at Washington School. She knew when I was stressed all she had to do was suck her thumb and I would crack up. What a wonderful person! You have my deepest sympathy.

    I doubt if you all will remember me but I remember you family well. Your dad was my high school counselor and then friend when I was having trouble in college. He and your mom both when I felt so down and encouraged me to keep my head up and keep going and worked with me so that I went back to school, graduated from what is now UCM in Warrensburg and got into a field that has given me a rewarding job for over 30 years. I also dated your cousin Steve Stelljes in the late 60’s early 70’s so was at your house some then too. I am so sorry for your loss. Ever once in awhile over the years I have thought about you all and wondered where you were. I knew about your dad’s death in 92 and was sad then too. Take care
