Jay R. Drummond 65, of the greater Kansas City area. Jay lost his battle to cancer on May 15, 2010. Born in Oakland, CA, he grew up in the Kansas City area. Jay also resided in Detroit, MN, NYC, and Atlanta. He graduated from Raytown High School. He was preceded in death by his parents J.W. (Bill) and Doris I. Drummond. He is survived by his son Jay Drummond Jr. and his wife Clare of Arvada, CO. His daughter De Anna Harper and her husband Bently of Olathe, KS. Three grandsons- Cole, Cody and Cory Harper. Brothers Michael L. Drummond of Deerfield Beach, FL. Mark Drummond of KC, MO. Patrick Drummond and his wife Terri of Blue Springs, MO. Step-mom Joanne Drummond. His sister Cathy and (Husband) David Lambrecht and family of Buckner, Mo. Daniel Drummond of Wellington, MO. Many step siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jay retired from Fidelity/BostonCoach. His career was spent with J. C. Nichols Co. and others in the advertising, marketing and public relations industry. Jay loved his family, Donald Duck, trains, teaching, the outdoors and photography. I had the honor of working with Jay in Atlanta GA. He was such a kind and helpful person and loved making children smile. I think of him often and am so grateful I had the opportunity to get to know him.
