JENNIFER C. HAWKINS
Jennifer C. Hawkins, 39, Independence, MO passed away October 28, 2009. Visitation will be held 2-3 PM, Sunday, Nov 1, 2009 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO. Memorial services will follow at 3 PM. Burial in New Salem Cemetery, Independence, MO. Jennifer was born October 9, 1970 in Independence, MO. She grew up in Independence, and spent some of her early years in Braymer, MO. She graduated from Truman HS in 1989. During her many years of work she worked on her educational goals. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Business from American University. Throughout her life, Jennifer overcame so many obstacles in order to find success. In recent years, Jennifer was completing course work in Human Resources for a Masters Degree. Jennifer loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, gardening and horseback trail riding. She will be remembered for her life long love of animals including; horses, dogs, cats, birds and fish. In recent years she had the opportunity to work a cattle drive in Warrensburg, MO. Those who knew and loved her will talk about her outgoing personality and she never met a stranger. Survivors include: grandmother, Ruth Johnson, Raytown, MO; father, Gary Hawkins (Kay), Lake Tapawingo, MO; mother, Ruth Evelyn Smith, Lake of the Ozarks, MO; brother, John Johnson & wife "sis" Danell, Blue Springs, MO; step brothers, Chris Wooten, Livingston, TX, Justin Reeder, Lee’s Summit, MO, Travis Reeder, Blue Springs, MO; step sisters, Tammy Smith, KC, MO, Kelly Smith, KC, MO; many nieces and nephews; and her children, Petra & Chief. I was very sad to hear that Jen had passed away she was family to my Sister, Brothers and Me, and we all will miss her so much.Jennifer you are truely loved and missed.
I was shocked and saddened to learn about my good friend passing. We had many classes together and visited often. She helped me get Cheyenne – Petra’s “grand daughter” and I will remember her and her friendship forever. She will be missed.
