Judith Eubank

Judith Bernice Smith Eubank, 65, long time resident of Kansas City, MO, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, August 05, 2007. She was born March 4, 1942, in La Follette, TN, to G. Hobart and Bernice Smith, who both proceed her in death. Services will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2007, at 11:00 AM at Broadway Baptist Church, visitation 9:30-10:30. She was passionate about her work with older adults, having started Breaktime Club. Which provides inspiration, socialization and enrichment for older adults, while providing respite for their caregivers. She also led a caregivers support group. Both met at Blue Ridge United Methodist Church. Prior to her work with older adults, she had a variety of work. Among her favorites, English teacher in the Raytown School District, and realtor for JC Nichols. She was a graduate of Raytown High School. She received her BA in English from UMKC, and recently returned to school to work on her Master’s in Gerontology. Judy was inspired by and found solace in her many loves: beautiful music, great literature, the arts, her garden, friends, and above all, her family. She is survived by her 3 children, Tom Eubank, Portland OR, Mindy (Scott) Kinkade, Boca Raton, FL, Carrie (John) Brown, Lee’s Summit, MO. Her 3 sisters, Jean Dunham, Albuquerque, NM, Betty Meyers, Jefferson City, MO, Dr. Barbara Thompson, Kansas City, MO. And her 7 grandchildren, Sophia, Michael, Jackson, Catie, Paisley, Anthony and Philip. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Broadway Baptist Church, or the Breaktime Club at Blue Ridge United Methodist Church.
