Katherine Louise Nelson, 78, of Columbia passed away January 16, 2010. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 23 at Red Top Christian Church in Hallsville. Katherine was born November 1, 1931 in Boone County to the late Forest and Dorothy (Rumbaugh) Davenport. She retired as an MICU unit clerk from Boone Hospital and is survived by her children, Karen “Quis” Quisenberry of Hallsville, Donna Elke of Washington state and William (Mary) Nelson of Richland, MO. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild as well as numerous aunts, nieces and nephews. Katherine is preceded in death by her husband William L. Nelson, brothers Buddy and James Davenport, sisters Clara Mae Davenport and Hazel Goodman, daughter Elaine Grierson and a granddaughter Dawn Boots. Memorials are requested to Missouri River Hospice.

We are sad to hear of your loss. Katherine was an awesome lady. We certainly enjoyed visiting with her when she would stop by with Karen. May you have many memories of happiness from having her in your life.
