Kathryn Nakicen

Kathryn L. Nakicen, 81, passed away September 11, 2003 at her home in Lee’s Summit, MO of congestive heart failure. A private Graveside Service will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Wayside Waifs or Deanna Rose Children’s Farmland, 1300 Lamar, Overland Park, KS. Kathryn was born on August 3, 1922 in California, MO. She resided in the Kansas City area most of her life. The last four years she lived with her daughters in Lee’s Summit. Kathryn was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a wonderful love for her family, life, flowers, and her pet Max. She will be dearly missed by her family. Kathryn was preceeded in death by her brother, Vernon Callahan, and sisters, Jerry McCormack and Mary Porter. She is survived by her sister, Virginia Farris; daughters, Elizabeth Nakicen and Sharon Ballew and husband George; sons, Chris Nakicen, Jack Podraza and wife, Susan, and Bill Morse; grandchildren, Laura Kudrin and husband, David, Tom Birdwell and wife, Trish; great-grandchildren Itir Kudrin, Kayla, Josh, Sarah, and Alex Podraza, all of the KC area, and Tyler Birdwell of Mt. Ayer, IA.
