Larry Nylund

Larry Nylund of Kansas City, MO died peacefully early September 7th, 2007 with his loving wife Debbie Nylund and his two children Carrie and Terry Nylund by his side. Larry was born October 25th, 1941 in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Center High School in 1960 then attended Baker University where he graduated with a Psychology degree in 1964. Larry began his career as a counselor for the Neighborhood Youth Corp in Kansas City, KS. In 1965, he began selling printing for the George D. Barnard Printing company in Washington D.C. and later in St. Louis, MO. He relocated to Kansas City in 1969. He began a career with Miller Cooper Ink Company in 1971 until his time of death serving as President of the company for the last 27 years. He also served on the Board of Directors for Inland Industries since 1980. Larry was a member of the National Association of Printing Ink Manufacturing (NAPIM). Over the years Larry volunteered time and money to several charities including United Cerebral Palsy and Help Jace Face Autism. Larry’s true passion came from coaching sports for children. For over 35 years he volunteered coaching time for his own children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and neighborhood children. Larry was proceeded in death by parents James and Jessie Nylund. Larry is survived by his wife, Debbie Nylund. Children Carrie Nylund of Kansas City, MO and Terry Nylund and wife Sara of Olathe, KS. Step children Christy Kimberlin and husband Mark and Michelle Gunther, Lori Burgess, Lisa Burgess, Rick Burgess and wife Jenny. Grandchildren include: Nick, Jace, Cade, Jake, Spencer, Casey, Taylor, Colby, Jordan, and Matthew. Sisters Sandy Sissom and Janis McMillian. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Sunday, September 16th at Club 1000 (1000 Broadway Kansas City MO 64105) from 1:00-4:00 PM for family and friends to pay their respects.
