There’s a moment in everyone’s life when they decide whether they’re going to be a conventional person or not. My mother, was far from conventional. Its what made her SO beautiful. Because of that, this is not going to be traditional. For she wasn’t a spirit confined by typical expectations. She always lived outside of the box, always striving for life’s true meaning. . . sometimes I swear she knew what life was really about without even looking for the answers. She was worth more than the MAJOR “accomplishments” and the said status quo set for her; incase your wondering though, she was a success in every facet of her life. Lisa Ann Couture, died April 15, 2007 on a back road highway, driving to her home in Shawnee, KS from Leavenworth, KS. On December 3, 1962 in the beautiful state of Maine, she was born, the first daughter to Conrad Couture and Claire Eccles. With spending the greater half of 29 years in Florida, and most recently the last ten years between Kansas, Colorado and Chicago, no words can do justice to the amount of hearts she touched, and immense aching from her loss. Like anyone’s life, hers was filled with trails, successes, and struggles. But at the end of the day, no matter what business success she had accomplished or obstacle she had encountered, her daughter and son, Shawna Couture-21, and Ryan Couture-19, were the beat of her heart. I could list her awards, titles, and academic accomplishments, but Lisa never needed any superficial acknowledgments that she in fact was an inspirational woman. Left behind to live out her legacy of nothing less than kindred spirits, open hearts, and a solid awareness of life, Shawna and Ryan will live to the deepest inhale and soothing exhale of their mothers wisdom. Remembering as she said often, “when you fall, you have to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and don’t forget you have to laugh.”
Her celebration of life will be held at Heritage Park Shelter 8, on June 9, 2007 starting at 3p.m. (No black clothing). Her funeral/ releasing of ashes will be in Cocoa Beach, FL on June 30, 2007.The Lisa Couture Memorial is at any Bank of America country wide, for any contributions.

I was friends with Lisa while at Satellite High. She always brought a different view point to our conversations. Then bumped into her unexpectly while we were both working at Harris Corp years later. Talk of her children dominated the conversation!!!

Greg and I worked at the Kennedy Space Center with Lisa in the 1980’s. We remember her for her great sense of humor. She brightened the place up and was truly beautiful in every way. She talked about her children constantly, it seemed.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Mary Smith

I had learned of her passing, however, did not know the circumstances. We were only mere acquaintenaces, but as I recall she was a very happy, outgoing, guinely sweet girl and always seemed up-beat. I was very sad to hear of her passing, however, I am glad to have seen this posting. I want to comment on how touching and heartfelt the words written on her behalf.
