Mary Jane Charles, 56, of Liberty, Mo., passed away Monday, December 10, 2007, at the home. Memorial services will be held in the Liberty Christian Church 427 East Kansas, Liberty, (take Hwy. 152 east to Kansas St.) at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Planned Parenthood or ACLU. Mary Jane was born Dec. 4, 1951, in Des Moines. She graduated from Raytown South High School. MJ was trained and practiced as a dental and medical assistant. She was a long time resident of the Plaza where she worked for the surgical practice of Thomas, Koontz, Pinkerton, Helling and Nelson P.C. Mary Jane loved antiquing and was the co-owner of Bradford’s Antiques in Liberty. MJ supported the Historic District of Liberty, Inc. as secretary/treasurer. MJ was devoted to her dog, Kato. Mary Jane was a political activist attending the March for Women’s Lives in Washington, D.C. She loved to travel and scuba tropical waters. MJ enjoyed decorating her historical registered home. MJ was the beloved wife of Bradford D. Charles and is also survived by stepson, Nicholas Charles; mother, Mary Armstrong; sister, Susan Armstrong; brother and wife, Robert and Kay Armstrong, III; nephew, Todd Armstrong; and cousin and wife, John and Vivian Armstrong.
