Nellie Joanne Smith, 61, Independence, Mo., passed away April 17, 2007 at her home. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2885 Hardy Ave., Independence. Joanne is survived by her husband Sherman of the home, sons Sherman Smith Jr., Jeremiah Smith, both of Independence, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
