Robert Wheat

Robert (Bob) Wheat, 78, Overland Park, Kan., passed away January 24, 2008, following complications from stroke. Bob was born in Parsons, Kan., and was a talented athlete and student. He married Eunice Rice on April 15, 1951. An Army veteran, he served in the Korean War. After graduating from Pittsburg State University, he worked for Phillips 66 for 30 years as a Chemist and Sales Manager. He had a gift for engaging conversation, the game of golf and a bountiful garden. We will miss his blue eyes and spirit for life. He is preceded in death by his mother, father and brother, Ed. He is survived by his wife, Eunice; Melinda and Brad Laxson, his daughter and her husband, loving grandchildren Jack and Katie; and brother, Bill Wheat of Parsons, Kan. Graveside service will be held in Parsons, Kan. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
