Robert Akin

Bob Akin, 82, of Raytown, MO passed on September 22, 2009. Bob was born June 12, 1927 on a rural farm in the town of Ida Grove, IA. He went into the Marine Corp at the age of 18. Throughout the years Bob worked at Bendix, Armour Foods, and retired from the Marine Corp Finance. It was Bob’s wish to be cremated and his ashes spread out by one of the many golf courses he loved to play at. Taking up the game at 28 years old he became a fine amateur golfer in the KC area. He had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening and sharing everything he grew with his neighbors and family. He had a love for the outdoors and tried to pass on all that he knew to his family. Bob loved to joke around to make people laugh. He loved life and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was proceded in death by his parents, Jess and Mary (Sargant) Akin, his daughter Mary Ann, his two brothers Jess and Don and his two sisters Helen and Letha. He leaves his wife of 34 years Eva; sons Rob (Julie) Akin, Ron (Renee) Akin, Paul (Denise) Krebs, daughters Pam (Johnny) Seymore and Patty(Steve) Pound, grandchildren Jesse, Kyle,Ryan Akin, Brad Akin, Patrick,Joshua,Jamie Krebs, Bryan,Tiffany and Barry Sowers, Jennifer and Sean Wilson, brother Cecil Akin, sister Dorthy Church, and sister in law Jaunita Akin.
