Roy Burnett, Jr.

Roy Benjamin Burnett, 76, of Tebbetts, MO, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011, at the Golden Living Center.  The family will hold a private funeral service.  He was born March 17, 1934, in Jefferson City, MO the son of Roy and Dollie Burnett.  Bennie served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Rockwall.  He worked as a repairman at the local telephone company, United Telephone Company and was a longtime member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2.  He also owned and operated ADS Plumbing, Inc.  Bennie was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and socializing with his friends. He is survived by a daughter and son: Lisa Davidson of West Des Moines, IA and Rod Burnett of Jefferson City.

    Very sorry to hear the news about Bennie. Bennie was one of the first folks I met in the country and I knew him for the past 17 yrs. as my neighbor. I will miss my frequent visits and conversations with him. If you need anything at all please reach out to me. My thoughts are with you.

    I’m so sorry to hear about Bennie. He was such a good man, he lived with us for many years & he would always tell me when I was little, “Be Tough”. I still think of him when I tell me kids that. I haven’t seen him for awhile but he will always be remembered.

    Rod & Lisa, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. He was so good to my kids, Julie, Jamie,& Jason, teaching them how to be tough. When Jason was 6 he had him riding a mule & I about had a heart failure. They’ve talked about him a lot. My prayers are with you all & your families.
