Roy Strube

Roy E. Strube, 79, of Columbia, entered into eternal rest on January 4, 2007 at University Hospital & Clinics. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 7, 2007 at the Calvary Baptist Church, 606 Ridgeway Ave. in Columbia with the Dr. Edward Farris and the Rev. Phil Settel officiating. Mr. Strube was born on June 3, 1927 in Hannibal, MO to the late William and Pearl (Adams) Strube. He married Marcelline Conyers on October 19, 1947 in Hannibal and she survives him of the home. Roy enjoyed doing mission work and was a member of the Baptist Builders and would travel with Campers on Mission in his motorhome. He was a member of the American Legion Post #55 in Hannibal, enjoyed woodworking, and following a heart attack in 1992 he not only learned to quilt but did all of the quilting by hand. With this newfound talent he won many awards in cross-stitching, basket-weaving and quilting. Roy is also survived by two sons: Randy & Susan Strube of Florissant, Lynn & Penny Strube of Hannibal, one daughter Christy & Sonny Johnson of Columbia as well as six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Strube is preceded in death by one brother and one grandchild. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church Shepherd Basket, 606 Ridgeway Ave., Columbia, MO 65201
