Vernon Nester, 74, passed away August 22, 2007 at Lenoir Woods. He was born on December 29, 1932 to the late Lloyd and Reta (Welch) Nester in Wichita, Kansas. Private family services were held August 27, 2007 in Wichita, KS. Vernon is survived by a sister, Reta Caulkins of Gunnison, CO and one brother, Homer Nester of Wichita, KS.

    I am saddened to learn of Professor Nester’s death. I was an education student at MVC and will be forever grateful for his art appreciation class. His art slide collection was fantastic.Prof. Nester engendered an interest in art that has taken me to museums far and near.He was a class act.

    I just purchased art from an auction yesterday. My mother and I fell in love with the oil paintings. I was doing research on this fabulous artist and I’m sorry to hear he passed.
