VIVIAN M. McNERNEY
Mrs. Vivian M. McNerney, 96, Kansas City, MO, passed away Dec. 30, 2009, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Mrs. McNerney was born in Wyandotte Co., KS, one of the six children of Hilda and Guy Helverson. She moved to Kansas City with her family in the 1920’s, where she remained, and where she met her future husband; she married Thomas T. McNerney in 1934. Following the accidental death of her husband in 1954, she devoted herself to her long career in nursing, and to her family. In addition to the loss of her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: brothers, Ralph Helverson, Glen Helverson (and wife, Mildred), and Vernon Helverson (and wife, Eva); brothers-in-law, John McNerney (and wife, Rosemary), Eugene McNerney, Richard McNerney, Donald Cutting, and Gilbert Allen; and sister-in-law, Anne Jordan. Survivors include; sons, Thomas T. McNerney Jr. (and wife, Barbara), and Eugene P. McNerney; sisters, Lillian Cutting, and Hazel Allen; sisters-in-law, Katherine McNerney, and Wynanda Helverson; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial will be announced at a later date.
