Willard Gossett

Willard A. (Bill) Gossett, 97, Overland Park, KS died January 27, 2003 at his home. Bill was born on January 20, 1906 to John David and Anabel “Tice” Gossett. He completed Topeka High School in 1923 and graduated from Washburn University in 1927 with a degree in civil engineering. He was married to Marjorie “Gonzales” Gossett for 68 years until her death in 1996. Bill was an official with the A.T.& S.F. Railroad until he retired in 1971. He lived in Johnson County since 1947. He was a member of the Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church and the Salt and Pepper Club. He was a great source of stories about the glory days of the railroads and had a memory that had not dimmed with the passage of time. He is survived by his brother J. Richard Gossett of Honolulu, Hawaii, his daughter Maxine Emerson Noller of Topeka, Kansas, and son Willard A. (Gus) Gossett of Englewood, Colorado, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. There will be a private burial At Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.
