William Reed

William Donald Reed, age 74, of Jefferson City died Wednesday August 6, 2008 at his home.  He was born September 30, 1933, a son of Dr. Byron Smith Reed and Mildred Turner Reed.  He was a graduate of Jefferson City High School and attended University of Missouri in Columbia.  He was married February 9, 1957 to Rose Marie Landwehr, who survives at the home. 
 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Robert Reed. 
 

Other survivors include one son, Philip Smith Reed, his wife Sheila and daughter Haley of Jefferson City, Missouri; two daughters, Jane Turner Stovall, her husband Rod and son Jesse of Cape Fair, Missouri; Ann Karen Peton, her husband Keith, and children Austin, Ben, Adam, Noah, Joseph and Lydia of Blacksburg, Virginia, and Roseanne Sands and her husband Davin of Moscow, Idaho.
 
Bill served honorably in the United States Army for three years.  He worked in sales for most of his life and worked ten years for the State of Missouri.  He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He loved gardening, cooking, and restoring old trucks.
 
Funeral services will be private for the family.  Family and friends will be received Friday evening at the home.
