Alta (Fish) Gunter

Alta (Fish) Gunter, 56, of Buckner, Missouri passed away August 26, 2016 at North Kansas City Hospital. Mrs. Gunter was born August 12, 1960 in Oroville, California.

Alta lived life one day at a time enjoying every day like it was her last. She enjoyed morel mushroom hunting, four wheeling, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her best friend Bonnye. Her favorite thing was going to the cassino, “ding, ding, ding!!” She spent every holiday with her sister, Ester, and Ester’s family as Alta’s family was located out of state. Alta was always up for a date with Bonnye. They were famously called, “Alta & Bonnye’s Big Adventures,” even if they were just going to the grocery store. She will always be loved, missed, and in everyone’s hearts.

Alta was preceded in death by her mother and father, Leonard W. Fish and Dorothy L. Fish. As well as her brother, Johnny W. Fish.

She is survived by two daughters; Leona M. Fish and Jessica A. Carey, three sisters and two brother-in-laws; Ester R. (Jeff) Harper, Dorothy A. (Rick) Fish, and Francis Fish, three grandsons; Johnathon A. Carey (5), Brian J. Carey(4), and Jason A. Carey(3), and a host of nieces and nephews including her nephew, Cody Harper, who Alta was very close with. She is also survived by her best friend, Bonnye.
